Now, in hindsight, it is easy to see what an atrocity the Mai Lai Massacre was. I can't rightly say what accounts for the amount of songs defending Lt. Calley, but it is safe to say that the Massacre was an atrocity. You can read the wikipedia page about it if you want to learn more about the darkness that can come from a human soul.
