Pressing plant located in Nashville. Pressed for MGM, Chess, Liberty and Motown. It became United Record Pressing in 1971.
It was started as an offshoot from Bullet Records and opened in 1949, changing it's name to Southern Plastics in the 1950s. SP specialized in 7" singles. In the early 60s they were "turning out one million disks a month while also securing a ocntract with Motown Records to press all of the company's singles."
As United Record Pressing they are still functioning today. See References and Further Reading for more information.
