Everything on this week’s show came from a box labeled Quarantine New Arrivals which doesn’t really tell me much. There was a lot of stuff that showed up in my mailbox in 2020 and 2021 and a lot of it has ended up in boxes labeled Random NRs or something like that. These records specifically came from G Minus Mark, who put together the Trailer Park Records compilations, and one other big buy I made on discogs. Looking back at orders from just a few years ago can be very surprising. Some of the records I paid $3.99 for would easily go for $10+ now on discogs. Times change!

For whatever reason a lot of these records had ties to the Carolinas. The Tar Heel Travelers, Arnold Bradley & June Whitson, Leonard & Irvin, Deep Valley Boys, and the J.E. Mainer are all from North Carolina. It also features a few murder ballads, which was unplanned. Shy Young Sue, He’s A Killer, Emmer Hartsell, and It’s Nothing To Me are all having to do with death.
