Jimmy Houston Mackey was born in Abilene TX on August 9th, 1926.  He grew up on a farm in Terry County TX near Needmore and, according to his daughter, "could play any stringed instrument."  His band, The West Texas All Stars, and he traveled around playing dances in Texas and New Mexico in the early 60s.  Mr Mackey passed away in Lubbock TX on February 9th 1968 at the young age of 41.
