Multi-intstrumentalist from Buckhannon, West Virignia.
From his obituary:
Brooks was from a musical family and began playing guitar as a young boy with his brothers, who were taught by their father. He also learned to play the trumpet and eventually played 22 different instruments, as well as singing and writing songs.
He worked in broadcasting starting in the 1950s and managed multiple stations. He part owned and operated WVRC/WSPZ in Spencer, WV. Later he moved to St Pauls NC and owned WLAB. In 1982 he moved to Orange City, FL.
Dale Brooks had a hand in Mayf Nutter being recognized by the Rockabilly Hall Of Fame. In a letter to the Hall from Nutter he says that Brooks was the one who made him aware of the Hall and told them about him playing way back in Jane Lew West Virginia.
Brooks died in 2013.
