A+R Record Manufacturing Corporation

Discogs bio:
American manufacturing company founded in 1967.
Active until October 2015, then sold to Josey Records and renamed Josey Record Manufacturing with its assets moved to a new location.
Has operated as a record pressing plant while providing audio mastering, CD/DVD manufacturing, as well as packaging services.

On vinyl-format releases, its data often appears hand-etched into the runout grooves as '####x##', i.e. 1010x49 (see: Lucky! (Nike7up Thief In The Night Mix)).
A record's manufacturing date (not release date) can be figured out from the number before the "x" as follows:

• 2-digit number: first digit is the year in the 1970s, 2nd digit is the month ("57" = July, 1975, "75" = May, 1977).
• 3-digit number: if first 2 digits are "80" then it is 1980, with last digit being month ("801" = Jan, 1980, "807" = July, 1980), otherwise first digit is the year in the 1970s and the last 2 digits are the month ("611" = Nov, 1976, "810" = Oct, 1978, "912" = Dec, 1979)
• 4-digit number: first 2 digits are year, last 2 digits are month ("8509" = Sept, 1985, "9702" = Feb, 1997, "0106" = June, 2001)

Please keep in mind this is a manufacturing date, so it is possible that the release date could be in the next year, particularly if the month is towards the end of the year. While it is usually safe to enter the year into release date if not contradicted by other sources, please do not enter the month into release date unless confirmed by another source. Records are often not released in the exact month they were pressed.

Operated a Neumann VMS 70 lathe with SX 74 cutter head in the 1970s.
